Zagora is a city situated near the Draa River in southeastern Morocco.its name comes from the mountain tazagort, Zagora is a nice place for having walks along the river, climbing or camel-treking into the desert. It's named the hottest point of Morocco. Zagora is known as the gate of the desert as it's the last gate to the Sahara. excursions to the sand land and watching the desert sunsets are the best impressions for tourists who visit Zagora. It's possible to see here the mix of Berber people with Arabs and Towaregs as the city was a part of a trade route some centuries ago. In Zagora there is a good range of services such internet cafes,pharmacies, supermarket, bakeries, restaurants and a good choice of quality hotels. Zagora has two banks, which offer normal services.
In the market you can buy different kinds of spices and carpets. The visitors are advised not to miss out with the delicious and diverse dates that this place is known for.

To Zagora there is a direct buses from Marrakesh and ouarzazate.

There are plenty of small cafe and restaurants in the town and there are also juice and milk shops there.
In the town there are numerous taxis for taking tourists to the right place.
If you want to have a nice dinner it's better to go to Amzrou which is a zone outside the town, here you can find good restaurants with good service.
What to DoOn the top of Zagora mountain there are remains of the Almoravid fortress. There are many beautiful small towns surrounding Zagora such as Takounit, M'hamid, Ktawa and Tnizouline and others. In Tamegroute you can visit a famous ancient library where one of the oldest Koran is , dated from 13th century.
